Dung Fu Cho I. P. C. states:-
I arrested the Acting Consul at the request of the
Chinese. I caught hold of him by his collar to separate him
from a Chinaman with whom he was struggling. Afterwards a
European constable came in. He made me let the Consul go and
told me to go back to my beat. The European did not take hold
of the Consul. I did not see the European constable seize the
Consul by the collar. He went away with him to the station.

P. C. Floyd states:-
I was on duty in the Charge room on the morning of the
14th March. I remember the Acting French Consul and his wife
coming there with some Chinese regarding an assault ease. I
heard Inspeetor Gauld speak to the Acting Consul. He spoke in
raise his ordinary voice and did not save. Nor was he in any way
uncivil. I was on duty up to 4 p.m. About 2.30 p.m. the
Acting Consul same back. He went inside the barrier and spoke
to Inspector Gauld about the case in the morning. He asked if
the matter would become publie. The Inspector got the refused
charge book and was going to show it to the Acting Consul. The
Consul tried to snatch the book from the Inspector. I heard
